Our Elders

Bronson Hokuf

Bronson R. Hokuf

Bronson began attending GBC during his college years while dating a young lady, Sharon McDowell, who had grown up in GBC and would become his wife. Over time he has served in many roles, including Jr. Hi. youth leader, deacon, treasurer, missions committee member, building chairman, elder, and life group leader, along with being involved in many other activities.

Bronson and Sharon reside in the Calvert area and have three adult children who, along with their children, also love and serve the Lord in various places around the world.

Early in his career, Bronson taught math and computer science. For many years now, he has worked for a medical imaging software company, Laurel Bridge Software, in the Newark, DE area, and he is now part of the leadership team there. He enjoys the outdoors and is an occasional cyclist.

It is Bronson’s great desire to be found faithful in following and serving our Lord, especially at GBC. He says, “I pray, as Paul did, that I will end well and will run the remainder of my life’s race with both endurance and faithfulness.”
- II Timothy 4:7

Mike Golt - Elder

Mike Golt

Mike Golt grew to love the Lord in a Christian home in Newark, DE. While serving as a student minister in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, he met and later married his college sweetheart, Morgan. They have a son and daughter, Levi and Adelyn. Mike has been an Army scientist since 2007 and his family have been attending GBC since 2014. At GBC he has been involved with the VBS drama, Dudes Club, the Deacon team, and choir. His interests include apologetics, making and DIY, and fishing and hunting with his family.
Dave Scott - Elder

Dave Scott

Dave Scott grew up in a Christian home where the Bible was not only taught but was applied to daily life – this was ‘normal’ and reinforced by many more role models that Dave has watched over the years. It takes a while to know how blessed you are!

Married for 36 years to Renee, proud dad of three grown men, and enjoying two wonderful grandsons! Renee and Dave live in Cecil County – both have for their entire lives. GBC is the only church Dave has really ever attended. At age 6, revival meetings and fear of being ‘left behind’ was the cause for initially running to Christ with the help of his mother – surrender/lordship came later.

Dave has served in various capacities at GBC, including leading a men’s adult class, serving as a deacon and as a member of the missions committee. He is self-employed in residential remodeling and loves the outdoors and hunting as his father did.

Philippians 3:12-14 “(I) press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me…”
